By perceiving and accepting our thoughts, physical sensations, emotions and events at the moment they occur, without reacting in an automatic or habitual way, we can begin to respond more creatively. Mindfulness is the training through which we learn to do this.
Mindfulness techniques are easy to learn, but everyone's experience with them is different, which is why it is important to have a good teacher and the opportunity to talk about your experiences.
Yasmin is a qualified Breathworks mindfulness teacher and a qualified .b teacher. For over ten years Breathworks courses have helped thousands of people to improve and transform their quality of life and .b courses are specifically designed for teenagers and young adults.
Courses are run in two different formats to suit different participant needs and are held over an eight week period (either meeting for 2 hours one evening each week, or meeting for 4 hours one day every two weeks). A full set of materials, including CDs, is provided to support learning throughout the programme.
All Mindfulness Makes Sense courses and workshops provide information on how and why mindfulness works, the science behind it and an understanding of how our brains respond to certain stimuli. We introduce you to the techniques for becoming more mindful and provide support and guidance on how to work with them, and how to make them work for you.
Participants gain the knowledge, tools and practices to create lasting change and, to get the most from the course, participants undertake home practice each day for the duration of the course.
With regular practice, even if it is only ten minutes a day, we become more aware of how we think and feel on a moment-by-moment basis, and build the brain muscles that enable us to be more resourceful in managing our responses.
This course is usually held in the Helmsley Building, Nottingham University Park Campus and the cost is £245 per person. This includes all tuition, a full set of materials, including CDs, and access to support and advice for the duration of the course.
This is a practical course with the emphasis on learning the various mindfulness techniques. Taught in a friendly and relaxed environment, participants will gain the knowledge, tools and practices to create lasting change.
