Mindfulness is becoming widely recognised as an effective approach to increasing well-being, managing stress, pain and illness, improving quality of life, improving relationships, and becoming better at whatever we choose to do. Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to whatever arises from moment-to-moment in ourselves, others and the world around us.
By becoming more mindful we create the conditions that give us greater choice in how we respond to our experience to have a rich and fulfilling life, even in difficult circumstances. By perceiving and accepting our thoughts, physical sensations, emotions and events at the moment they occur, without reacting in an automatic or habitual way, we can begin to respond more creatively. Mindfulness is the training through which we learn to do this.
You will find that with regular practice, even if it is only ten minutes a day, you will become more aware of how you think and feel on a moment-by-moment basis, and will build the brain muscles that enable you to be more resourceful in managing your responses.
Mindfulness is for everyone. Whether you want to reduce stress, improve your performance, become a better leader, experience greater well-being, manage pain or change habits that are difficult to break, mindfulness training helps.
